Italian Bishops donate Euro One Million for war victims

Italian Bishops’ Conference donates One Million Euros for the war victims in Sri Lanka, which has been made through the intervention of Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith now serving in the Vatican.

The Italian Bishops’ Conference also invites the universal church to pray for peace in Sri Lanka and bring relief to the war victims.

The President of the Italian Bishops’ conference, His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Bangnasco highlights that these donations have to be utilized for the immediate necessities of the Internally Displaced Persons.

The Committee for Charitable Interventions in Developing Countries whose president is Mons. Gandolfo Gian Batista requests these donations be directly handled by the Local Churches and Caritas offices under the guidance of the Sri Lankan Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
