Accepting nominations for the upcoming elections in Jaffna Municipal Councils and Vavuniya Urban Councils will commence from June 18th, the Election Commissioner’s Department announced.

Returning Officers of Jaffna and Vavuniya will be accepting nominations for the two districts.

The accepting of nominations is to end by noon on June 25th.

The Elections Commissioner would announce the date of polls following the conclusion of the nomination period.

This election is to be held in accordance with the voter register prepared in 2008.
