TamilNadu remains on alert for LTTE

TamilNadu police have stepped up patrolling and tightened security along the state's coast to prevent possible infiltration of LTTE remnants from Sri Lanka.

Twelve coastal police stations have been put on high alert. The government has imported a hi-tech surveillance boat from Greece to bolster coastal patrolling, the Army website of Sri Lanka reported.

Meanwhile, India’s counter-terrorism force, the NSG, is gearing up to set up its full-fledged commando unit in Chennai. The NSG commandos would arrive in Chennai and would function at the Police Training College in Chennai, the report added.
