Israel gives humanitarian aid to IDPs

Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has dispatched a shipment of humanitarian aid to assist the people of Sri Lanka. A shipment of medical equipment and drugs, contributed by the MFA and the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, will be delivered today (June 19) to the Sri Lankan health authorities.

The humanitarian shipment, which was collected and organized by MASHAV, the Israel Center for International Cooperation, will be presented by MFA deputy Director General for Asia and the Pacific, Ruth Kahanoff, who is currently visiting Colombo, a press release issued by the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

It also said the MFA has thus responded to the request of the Sri Lankan president, who requested the assistance of the international community.
