Sri Lankan –India: More regular contacts

 

A Sri Lankan delegation led by Senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse, and Secretary to President Lalith Wiretunge are scheduled to meet with Indian delegation led by National Security Advisor M K Narayanan, Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh today(June 24). The meeting is part of regular contacts at high level between Sri Lanka and India on current matters of mutual interest, and also expected to further improve the close and friendly ties that exist between the two countries.

The Indian National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan and Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa on several occasions recently when they gained increased awareness of the relief measures taken by the government for the heavy influx of IDPs in the North.
