Large hauls of war materials recovered from Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu areas

 

Sri Lanka Army Troops of the 57 Division recovered 09 T-56 Assault rifles during a search operation conducted in Kilinochchi area yesterday (24). At the same time 02 shot guns and RPG weapon were recovered during a search operation conducted in Vishvamadu area.

During a search operation conducted in Poowannikulam area on the same day troops of the 57 Division recovered 01 Claymore mine, 01 RPG bomb, 58 detonators and a haul of C4 explosives with a weight of 5kg.

Meanwhile on information received to them, the 59 Division troops and the Police launched a combined search operation in Mullaittivu, Kalviyankadu areas on the same day. The following war materials were recovered in a search operation conducted in Mullaittivu, Kalviyankadu areas yesterday (24): 44 Silva compass, 06 Binoculars,12 Satellite phones, 13 Satellite phone sim cards , 39 Garmin GPS ,14 Bore gun cartridges.

SL Army Troops of the Task Force 3 recovered 87 Anti-personnel mines from Alankulam area yesterday (24). They also recovered 10 Anti-personnel mines, 01 122mm bomb and 01 RPG bomb during a separate search operation conducted in Akkarayankulam area on the same day. Task Force 6 troops recovered 01 Pistol from the Paranthan area on the same day.

SL Army Task Force 4 troops meanwhile recovered the following war materials during an extensive search operation carried out in Mulliyaweli area yesterday (24):02 Rifles,08 T-56 Assault Rifles,01 MPMG Barrel ,01 12.7mm Barrel ,05 Micro Pistols ,01 Veri Light Pistols ,195 Micro Pistol ammunition and 08 T-81 riffle.
