Triumph did not bring attacks or humiliation on Tamils - President

The triumph of the government over the LTTE did not lead to any attacks or humiliation on the Tamils, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his extensive interview with The Hindu.

I always respect the family culture of the Tamils. It is this culture that the LTTE destroyed, the President added.

In the third and final part of the interview with The Hindu, the President spoke of the safety and security of Tamils and Muslims after the defeat of the LTTE, his commitment to democracy and the Parliamentary system, is Constance desire to be in close touch with the people, and the good relations with countries such as India, China and Pakistan and some aspects of irresponsibility by sections of the media.
