Loan scheme to North 

 

Central bank of Sri Lanka has taken actions to give three billion rupees to several banks to lend to small and micro businesses in North.

Bank of Ceylon, People's Bank, Hatton National Bank, Commercial Bank, Seylan Bank, and Sanasa Development Bank, which have branches in North, will get central bank re-finance. The banks will get funds at 6.0 percent which are expected to be loaned at 12.0 percent a year.

Under the proposed loan scheme, starts from this month, credit facilities would be available for agriculture, livestock, fisheries, small scale enterprises, trade and other self employment projects.
