Fuel prices in North reduced

 

The fuel prices in the Northern Province reduced, said Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum, W.B. Ganegala.

Accordingly the price of a liter of Petrol has been reduced by Rs. 6.50 and now stands at Rs. 134.

The new price of Diesel is Rs. 76.50, after a reduction of Rs. 5.10 while the revised price of Kerosene is Rs. 54, which amounts to a drop by Rs. 5.60.

The transportation costs earlier borne by the Government in transporting goods and other materials from Colombo to Jaffna will be reduced considerably with the opening of A9 land route and this is expected to bring down the cost of living dramatically. Earlier both passenger and goods transportation was carried out using vessels.
