SL releases 21 Indian fishermen

Twenty one fishermen from India arrested on July 4 by Sri Lankan Navy have been released and were handed over to Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel at the International Maritime Boundary line on Wednesday, reported the Indian Express yesterday.

The fishermen were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy while fishing near the island waters.

They were brought to the Coast Guard station at Mandapam in India yesterday evening, Indian officials said.

The fishermen were scheduled to be sent home last week but rough sea conditions delayed their journey.
