Lak sathosa to Jaffna

The Government opened the first new Lak sathosa outlet in Jaffna, July 28, to provide essential commodities at concessionary rates to consumers in the North.

Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Services Minister Bandula Gunawardene said that there could be price variations due to various reasons especially due to transport costs but the high prices would come down with the opening of the new Lak sathosa outlet in Jaffna.

Large number of consumers gathered to purchase essential commodities in the new Lak sathosa outlet and expressed their happiness on the government’s move to set up the outlet there.

A new building has also been constructed by the government to set up the Lak sathosa self-service sales outlet. The people in Jaffna would soon be able to reap the benefits of this outlet.
