ICASL, AAT branch out to Jaffna

 

The Institution of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) are now located in Jaffna too.

This new branches opened on Aug. 5, will find ways to upgrade higher education facilities especially in the Northern Province in line with the Uthuru Vasanthaya program to help the Northern youth to meet the accountancy demands of the 21st century, said the Secretary, ICASL, Mr. Aruna Alwis.

The purpose of this program is to promote Accountancy and AAT as a career choice among students, and enhance the capacity and quality of qualified accountants and Accounting Technicians to serve the country. The ICASL and AAT have developed a customized study course to cater to the needs of the Accountancy field which will be delivered through the ICASL and the AAT,

The courses have been designed in English and Tamil media for the students in the North while qualified teaching staff will conduct the lectures.

This will initially focus on urgent steps to develop an intensive program to train youth in North and East in this aspect of skills training.
