The
study
titled
“Eye on
Asia” by
the Grey
Group
Asia
Pacific,
a
leading
marketing
communication
company
ranks
Sri
Lanka on
top of
the list
of most
satisfied
persons
in the
Asia
Pacific
region,
with 93
per cent
of Sri
Lankans
stating
they are
most
satisfied
with
their
lives.
The
research
examines
three
areas of
life for
Asia
Pacific
region,
namely
Lifestyle,
Present
& Future
Aspirations,
and
Consumerism
&
Communications.
For the
current
study,
Grey
Group
also
conducted
an
in-depth
retail
ethnographic
probe
which
illustrates
how
current
sentiments
drive
shopping
behaviour
in
diverse
cultures
and
channels.
Now in
its
fourth
year,
‘Eye on
Asia’
has
interviewed
more
than
33,000
persons,
aged 18
to 65 by
via
e-mail
or
face-to-face
interviews
between
last
December
and
January
from Sri
Lanka,
Australia,
Bangladesh,
Mainland
China,
Hong
Kong,
India,
Indonesia,
Japan,
Korea,
Malaysia,
New
Zealand,
the
Philippines,
Singapore,
Taiwan,
Thailand
and
Vietnam.
Taiwan
took the
last
spot
with
only 28
per cent
among 16
countries
surveyed.
The
accelerating
age that
we live
in
necessitates
a focus
on
people
and
brands.
People
in the
region
are
looking
for
symbols,
deeper
emotions
and
psychological
benefits
in their
lives.
Marketers
should
respond
to this
by
taking a
closer
look at
what
motivates
people
as well
as what
they
want
from
their
lives in
the
future
to
create
innovative,
said
Grey
Group
Asia
Pacific’s
Chairman
& CEO,
Nirvik
Singh.
The
chart
below
shows
the
satisfaction
of
people
of the
countries
surveyed.
