Nallur - thousands attend final rituals

Devotees in their thousands have flocked to the Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil in Jaffna today, for the 24th day of the annual historic and cultural Hindu festival being held for the first time since the end of the war.

The highlight of the festival is the Ther Chariot procession which is being held today, in honor of the Lord Shanmuga.

The ‘water-cutting’ ceremony is to be held tomorrow while the festival will end the day after tomorrow with the ‘Bahirava Poojava’, said a custodian of the kovil.
