More machines to speed up de-mining

 
The government has purchased five more de-mining machines costing Rs.270 million, from the Government of Croatia to accelerate the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons in the North.

These MV4 de-mining machines which were received yesterday (Sep. 13) operate with the help of a remote control implement and each machine could de-mine 5000 square meters daily.

Five machines imported from Slovakia earlier are already used in the Yodawewa area in Mannar.
