UN Under-Secretary General visits SL

 
The United Nations Under Secretary General for Political Affairs, Lynn Pascoe is to visit Sri Lanka today, Sep. 16.

During his visit, Mr. Pascoe will call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa and also will hold discussions with a number of Ministers and senior representatives dealing with matters related to ongoing progress on post-conflict issues such as humanitarian assistance, resettlement of IDPs and the political process.

He is also expected to visit the IDP sites in the North.

The government looks forward to the widest possible engagements during this visit, coincides with the Foreign Minister’s scheduled visit to New York in September this year to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.
