IMF second
installment this month |

Minister
Dr.
Sarath
Amunugama
has
expressed
hope
that the
second
installment
of the
loan
from the
International
Monetary
Fund to
Sri
Lanka
will be
released
before
the end
of this
month.
This
loan
installment
amounts
to 320
million
US
dollars.
Addressing
a media
briefing,
Dr.
Amunugama
had said
that the
government
is being
engaged
in talks
with a
delegation
of the
IMF now
in Sri
Lanka,
who
commended
the
progress
of the
country’s
economy
in the
recent
past.
The IMF
group
has
appreciated
Sri
Lanka’s
ability
to
maintain
foreign
reserves
at a
higher
level.
They
have
have
focused
special
attention
on the
economic
achievements
especially
in July
and
August.
The
Minister
had
added
that a
special
meeting
of the
IMF will
take
place in
Istanbul
before
the end
of
September.
