SPC polls:
Postal voting end today

 
Casting of postal votes for the upcoming Southern Provincial polls commenced yesterday morning and it will continue till today evening.

The Election Secretariat had received nearly 31,158 postal vote applications from the government sector for the upcoming provincial council polls.

The highest number of applications were received from the Galle District with the total number of 14,766 applications.

The postal voting in the Matara District was successful, said Matara District Secretary W.K.K. Athukorale. The total number eligible was 8,390.

In the Hambantota District, 8,002 public employees were eligible to cast their votes. The District Secretary R.M.D.B. Meegasmulla said voting was very peaceful.
