The Ministry of Textile Industry Development has taken steps to open two textile training institutions in the Vavuniya and Cheddikulam Welfare Villages.

The government had decided to provide trained lecturers and a machine each to trainees with a view that after the training programme young men and women would be self-employed.

The two textile training institutions will pay Rs.2,000 to each participant during the training course and material required by trainees will also be provided free of charge.
