China to set up a tractor manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka

On his visit to China for the 10th anniversary of the 'Western China Development Strategy' and the launch of the '10th Western China Expo', Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka had discussions with a Chinese company to open up a tractor manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka.

A delegation of the Chu Aniong Company will be visiting Sri Lanka soon to further explore this matter.

The Prime Minister stressed that Sri Lanka being an agricultural country, tractors will be a big demand especially in the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka with the liberation of these areas from terrorism.
