A six member Iranian Parliamentary delegation is currently visiting Sri Lanka congratulated the Government on the victory over terrorism and stressed the need to build the country.

He called for closer cooperation between the two countries in the regional and international fora.

He further emphasized the need for enhancement of the trade relations between the two countries and agreed with the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister’s view that the private sector could play an active role in the development of both countries.

Foreign Minister Bogollagama thanked Government of Iran for their assistance in the socio-economic development of Sri Lanka in which both Governments are now proceeding with agreed projects.
