This is to ensure that fully-fledged filling stations are available in the Northern Province Districts as in Colombo and all fuel needs in the Province would be met without any shortage, reported Daily News.

Constructions and reconstructions of petrol filling stations in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar and Vavuniya Districts have already commenced.

Plans are also being made to set up new filling stations at Mankulam, Kilinochchi, Palei, Mullaitivu, Mannar, Puliyankulam, Wellankulam, and Pulmoddai areas.

CPC has allocated Rs.120 million to construct three storage tanks with a capacity of 5,000 gallons in two tanks and 3,000 gallons in one, to store petrol, diesel and kerosene oil in eight filling stations. It plans to build with sophisticated supply pumps, the Daily News report further stated.
