The
entire
world is
appreciating
the
President
Mahinda
Rajapaksa’s
successful
campaign
against
the
brutal
LTTE
terrorism
and the
work
towards
the
development
of
livelihoods
of the
people
of Sri
Lanka,
said
Myanmar
Senior
General
Than
Shwe at
the
official
meeting
with
President
Mahinda
Rajapaksa,
held
last
evening
at
President’s
House,
Kandy.
He
stressed
the
importance
of
mutual
assistance
in
regional
development
to reach
economic
goals.
Each
country
should
effectively
apply
their
technical
knowledge
and
methods
in
economic
development,
he said.
The two
leaders
discussed
reform
and
promotion
of the
agreements
for
civil
air
services
between
Sri
Lanka
and
Myanmar.
They
also
discussed
promotion
of
industry
in the
two
countries.
The
promotion
of
facilities
to
pilgrims
traveling
between
the two
countries,
promoting
tourism
and
exchange
of
students
of
Buddhism
were
among of
the
topics
discussed.
