Kuwaiti leadership keen to strengthen relations with SL

 
The Kuwaiti leadership is keen to strengthen relations with Sri Lanka, said Kuwait's newly-appointed Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yaqoub Al-Ateeqi.

He also said that he was proud to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to present to him with his credentials, and to work in Colombo.

Al-Ateeqi had told KUNA in a phone call that he met President Mahinda Rajapaksa earlier this week and conveyed to him the greetings of His Highness and their wishes of development and prosperity for the Sri Lankan people.

President Rajapaksa praised ties between his country and Kuwait and stressed on the importance of developing them, Al-Ateeqi said.
