The National Action Plan for Human Rights will be implemented on December 19, Disaster Management and Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe said.

The HR Action Plan and the Fundamental Rights Convention will be submitted to the European Union to emphazise that our country was taking great efforts to secure the rights of the people following the end of the 30-year conflict, said the Minister addressing media yesterday.

"The National Action Plan for Human Rights was drafted in response to comments made at the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations at Geneva", the Minister said.
