Kilinochchi District Hospital was re-opened for the public by the Northern Provincial Council recently.

The hospital which was well equipped with all medical, surgical equipment and supplies was badly damaged by the terrorists before they were defeated by the Armed Forces. The LTTE also had taken away the vital drugs and equipments when they fled.

The hospital was reequipped and renovated under the Vaddikin Vasantham rehabilitation and resettlement program of the North, implemented by the Presidential Special Task.

The hospital got a maternity ward, OPD, dental clinic and a unit for wound dressing. An Anti-Malaria Campaign Unit was also opened there under this renovating task.
