Emirates to
increase flights to Sri Lanka |

The
United
Arab
Emirates
represented
by the
General
Civil
Aviation
Authority
(GCAA)
signed
an Air
Services
Memorandum
of
Understanding
(MoU)
with Sri
Lanka,
to
increase
flights
between
the two
countries.
According
to the
MoU both
parties
agreed
to
increase
weekly
frequencies
for UAE
designated
airlines
and
agreed
on the
designation
of
FlyDubai,
in
addition
to the
current
designated
UAE
national
airlines,
Emirates
Airline,
Etihad
airways
and Air
Arabia.
Both
delegations
further
agreed
to
include
a new
Article
on
Aviation
Safety
in the
Air
Services
Agreement
signed
in March
2000, as
per the
latest
recommendations
from the
International
Civil
Aviation
Organization.
The MoU
was
signed
by Omar
Bin
Ghaleb,
Deputy
Director
General
of the
UAE
General
Civil
Aviation
Authority
(GCAA)
and K V
P
Rajunth
De
Silva,
Secretary,
Ministry
of Ports
and
Aviation
of Sri
Lanka.
Representatives
from Abu
Dhabi
Department
of
Transport,
Dubai
Civil
Aviation,
Sharjah
Civil
Aviation,
Etihad
Airways,
Emirates
airline
and
FlyDubai
attended
the
meeting.
