Two UNP frontliners join govt

 
Two UNP frontliners took oaths last evening as government Ministers before President Mahinda Rajapaksa last evening (16 Dec).

UNP MP Johnston Fernando was appointed Cabinet Minister of Land Development, Human Settlement and Ranaviru Welfare while Indika Bandaranayake was appointed Non-Cabinet Minister of Natural Resources.

UNP MP Johnston Fernando, speaking to media said that he together with UNP MP Indika Bandaranayaka have decided to support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the forthcoming Presidential elections. Fernando said he was compelled to take the decision as the party had decided not to field a candidate from the UNP for the polls.
