In response to UK’s The Times newspaper article dated December 15, 2009, titled “Sri Lankan war crimes video is authentic, Times investigation finds,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to state the following:

The Government of Sri Lanka rejects the contents of the news item while reiterating that it stands by the position made known following the first telecast of the video under reference by Channel 4 in August this year, namely that the investigation carried out by a panel of experts appointed by the Sri Lankan authorities clearly establishes that the video is not authentic and has been doctored.
