Accordingly, 149 projects were completed in 2008 spending over Rs.20 million. In 2009, the number of projects implemented through the same sources exceeded Rs.24 million in over 150 projects within the Colombo Divisional Secretariat area, reported Daily News.

A total of 299 projects had been launched in 32 Grama Niladari divisions for the benefit of over 400,000 people during 2008 and 2009, the report added.

Jathika Saviya - Gama Neguma programme implemented ten projects during 2008 and 2009. Under the Samurdhi and decentralized budget 67 and 222 programmes were carried out respectively, the report further said.
