400 km roads to be upgraded

 

Two massive road development projects will be launched in the North Central Province to renovate 400 kilometers of dilapidated roads. The projects will be carried out in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa Districts and will be inaugurated in mid January.

The Asian Development Bank has offered Rs.3, 500 million to upgrade nearly 300 kilometers of road in the province and the project will be completed in three years, reported Daily News.

Rs.200 million has been granted to the North Central Provincial Council to renovate and modernize nearly 150 kilometers of roads in the North Central Province, the report added.

The roads to be renovated have been selected on the instructions of the North Central Chief Minister and Provincial Roads Development Minister.
