Sri Lankans
blessed with bright future - Indian HC |
|
|
|
Sri
Lankan
people
are
blessed
with a
bright
future
with the
emergence
of a
peaceful
atmosphere
created
with the
end of a
long
drawn
out war,
Indian
High
Commissioner,
Ashok
Kanth
said.
He made
these
observations
after
paying a
courtesy
call on
the
Chief
Prelate
of
Malwaththe
Chapter
Most
Ven.
Thibbotuwawe
Siddhartha
Sumangala
Thero in
Kandy
yesterday
(Jan.
04).
The High
Commissioner
said
that the
relations
between
the two
countries
have
been
very
cordial
and this
excellent
goodwill
could be
further
strengthened
under a
peaceful
set-up
without
a war,
reported
Daily
News.
'Sri
Lanka is
now
enjoying
peace
after
the end
of war
in the
country.
My visit
to the
country
also
coincided
with
this
pleasant
period.
Sri
Lanka
helped
India
when the
latter
needed
assistance
in the
past.
The same
way
India is
also
willing
to lend
its
assistance
to Sri
Lanka
when the
need
arises',
the High
Commissioner
further
said.
