Only 79,965 IDPs remaining in Vavuniya 

 
There are only 79965 IDPs remaining in 8 IDP centres in Vavuniya while 1349 IDPs are in Jaffna, Minister for Disaster Management and Human Rights, Mahinda Samarasinghe said today (7 Jan) at a press briefing.

In addition, a total of 19,683 have used the freedom of movement granted by the government since Dec 1 while 2705 are yet to return to IDP centres on the days given by them.

As of today (Jan 07), a total of 169, 891 IDPs have been released and resettled in the North out of over 270,000 IDPs displaced.
