Tourist arrivals increasing

 
The number of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka went up 2.1 percent in 2009, compared to the previous year, according to figures released by Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority figures showed that the country received 477,890 tourists in 2009. It was only 438,475 in 2008.

Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka have increased as a result of improved security situation in the country.
