15 buses daily between Colombo & Jaffna

Fifteen buses are deployed daily to and from Colombo and Jaffna and the service will be extended according to demand.

We have started a bus service on the A-9 highway round the clock, after the road was opened without restrictions, said Deputy General Manager, CTB, Livinis Bamunukula Arachchi.

The CTB has also deployed 30 buses for the Jaffna-Vavuniya route daily, he added.

The bus service to Jaffna from Trincomalee, Ampara, Batticaloa, Vavuniya, Kalmunai and Kandy which connects A-9 is functioning as usual. In addition, 3 buses have been deployed for Mannar-Jaffna and Mannar-Colombo routes.

The CTB opened a sub depot recently in Kilinochchi to serve the people in the North. A bus service will commence next week from Vavuniya to three destinations in the North to provide transport facilities to nearly 35,000 people who were recently re-settled, the Deputy General Manager further stated.
