Farmers allowed cultivation in Jaffna HSZ

 

The government easing restrictions in Jaffna has allowed the owners of the paddy lands within the High Security Zone in Ariyalai area of Jaffna to cultivate in the abandoned lands.

The measure has been taken on the instruction of Mr. Basil Rajapaksa, MP, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force for Uthuru Wasanthaya 180-day development programme in the Northern Province.

Meanwhile, 509 people have recently been resettled in their places of origin in the High Security Zone in Palai, Jaffna.
