Major Gen. Daya Ratnayake appointed Chief of Staff of the Army

 
Major General Daya Ratnayake has been appointed Chief of Staff of the Army.

Prior to his new appointment, Major General Daya Ratnayake was the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation of former LTTE cadres. He was also the Sri Lanka Army’s media spokesman before the Eelam War 4 began.

When the liberation of the East was launched, the then Brigadier Daya Ratnayake headed the 23 Division. After the East was liberated from the LTTE, Brigadier Ratnayake was promoted Major General.
