Menon expresses confidence about a solution acceptable to all

National Security Advisor (NSA) Shivshankar Menon said on Sunday that India is working with the Sri Lankan Government for resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced Tamils.

The National Security Advisor after meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi expressed confidence about a solution that would satisfy all sections.

"I assured him that the Centre would continue to do whatever it can," Menon told media.

He said the Indian Government was continuously holding talks with Sri Lanka on resettlement of Tamils.

"We are working with the Sri Lankan Government both in terms of resettlement of displaced people and also in terms of a political arrangement that will satisfy all the communities in Sri Lanka," Menon added.

He said Karunanidhi had expressed concern over Indian fishermen detained in Sri Lanka and their condition.
