The
World
Bank has
agreed
to grant
Rs.2400
million
to
develop
the road
network
covering
100
rural
villages
in the
Badulla
District.
This
follows
successful
talks
between
Healthcare
and
Nutrition
Ministry,
World
Bank
representatives,
Treasury
officials
and the
Road
Development
Ministry.
Accordingly,
the
Kandegedera-Galauda
road
which
traverses
70 rural
villages
in
Wiyaluwa
Electorate
and
Matitale
- Tenna
Panguwa
Kiriwehera
road
which
covers
another
30
villages,
will be
rehabilitated
on
priority
basis
immediately,
reported
Daily
News.
The
road
rehabilitation
of a
distance
of 28
kilometers
along
the
Kandeketiya-Galauda
road
will
receive
Rs.1300
million
while
the
remaining
Rs.1100
million
will be
spent on
the
Matitale
-
Kiriwehera
road
which
covers
21 kms.
Nearly
20,000
families
would
benefit
from
these
two road
development
projects
in the
District,
the
report
added.
