Japan gifts mobile libraries to IDP children

Japanese companies and residents in Sri Lanka will gift 18 sets of mobile libraries to children in the welfare villages in Vavuniya.

The mobile libraries will be handed over to pre-schools in Menik Farm in the Northern Province, with the assistance of the Ministry of Social Services and Social Welfare.

The children can borrow books from the libraries for a few days to read at home.

The libraries will soon be handed over to the Northern Governor, G. A. Chandrasiri.

The books in the libraries are intended to provide a non-stressful experience that allows children to explore and develop their language and literacy skills as well as to promote multicultural understanding.
