The Federation of IT Industry, Sri Lanka (FITIS) will hold an exhibition later this month in the Jaffna peninsula to create ICT awareness, hold ICT training programmes and feature an ICT career guidance programme for youth in the Northern Province.

The new developments in technology, its applications as well as business and careers opportunities in ICT will be featured.
An associated career guidance seminar for career seekers, tertiary and secondary school students in the Province too will be conducted.

Arrangements have also been made to conduct lectures on the use of ICT in small and medium enterprises which are expected to grow with the defeat of terrorism.

The exhibition, called ‘Mini INFOTEL Jaffna’, will be held during February 26 – 28 at the Vembady Girls High School.

Jaffna has a special significance as people of the North are preparing to a new chapter of development and INFOTEL society believes that ICT can play a significant role in re-awakening the North and East, FITIS said in a statement.

The exhibition also provides an opportunity for advertising and promoting products and services in the Northern market.
