Rajapaksa
met the
President
of the
Russian
Federation,
Dmitry
Medvedev
in
Moscow
yesterday
(08
Feb).
The
two
heads of
states
held
discussions
on
strengthening
bilateral
relations
between
the two
countries.
President
Medvedev
congratulated
President
Rajapaksa
on the
victory
over
terrorism
and the
Sri
Lankan
President
thanked
the
Russian
President
for
their
support
in
countering
terrorism.

Peiris,
President's
Secretary

Sri

On
Sunday,
President
Mahinda
Rajapaksa
participated
at the
Golden
Jubilee
Anniversary
celebrations
and a
cultural
show of
the
Peoples’
Friendship
University.
President
Rajapaksa
was
honoured
with a
memento,
a gold
plated
crown,
decorated
in
precious
stones
at the
occasion
presented
by Prof.
Philipov.
President
Rajapaksa
recalled
the
strong
ties
between
the two
countries
while
addressing
the
gathering.
The
President
returned
to the
island
today
after
his
three
day
official
visit.
