More schools for Northern children

 

The Government has allocated a further Rs.100 million to construct 23 schools in the Jaffna District, under the Vaddikin Vasantham Programme.

Out of which 14 school buildings have already been completed and opened by the Northern Province Governor, Major General G.A. Chandrasiri on February 18. The balance 9 buildings will also be opened for the schoolchildren soon.

A new Computer Resource Centre for Zonal Area in Velanai which included 59 schools were also opened on the same day by the Northern Province Governor. The Government has also decided to establish this computer resource centre in Sarasvati Maha Vidyalaya in Valanai, Jaffna with the help of Asian Development Bank.
