SL gaining momentum to achieve MDGs - JICA

 
The government has been making a significant effort for sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction and thereby gaining momentum to achieve Millennium Development Goals, said Resident Representative of JICA Sri Lanka, Akira Shimura.

He was addressing the gathering at the symposium organised by the South Cap Team at the Vihara Maha Devi Auditorium Hambantota.

He further said that JICA (Japan International Corporation Agency) launched the South Cap Project in March 2007 in collaboration with the government of Sri Lanka for the purpose of improving the livelihood needs of the rural people, the Island reported.
