Ornamental fish breeding in Hambantota

 

An ornamental fish breeding facility will be declared open on March 13 at NARA Regional Research Centre in Rekawa, Hambantota under the patronage of Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic resources and National Aquatic Resources Agency (NARA).

The ornamental fish culture tank systems will be handed over to 24 under privileged fisheries families in Rekawa Netolpitiya area, according to Mahinda Chintana Empowerment of the Rural Economy Programme.

The ornamental fish breeding facility and twenty four ornamental fish culture tank systems were constructed under the supervision of the National Aquatic Resources Research Development Agency. The programme was funded by the Spanish government.
