Stable Parliament reflecting people's strength needed - President

A stable Parliament reflecting people's strength is needed to implement the country's future development plans with new vigour, stated President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He made these statements addressing a gathering at Diyawara, Lunugamvehera yesterday (14 March) where a cultural centre was declared open by the President.

Politics of hate should end. People need to act with the country set as the priority. All must contribute to the development process of the country while building a strong Parliament, he stressed.

Development has come to the village. Apart from development of roads and bridges, children have also experienced spiritual development, the President stated.

Anyone can make allegations. But no one can betray the country's future or children's ambitions, the President emphasized.

A new generation of youth has stepped forward to contribute to the nation's development. We need to encourage them to build a generation that can overcome the challenges of the future world, President Rajapaksa further stated.
