Ayurvedic products to be exported to Japan

 

Enterprises Development and Investment Promotion Ministry has granted approval to a project in Dambadeniya to export the finished products of indigenous ayurvedic medicine to Japan.

This agreement was signed between Japan's Hikari Mec Co Ltd and Sri Lanka. The total investment would be Rs.600 million, reported Daily News.

This project once completed would grant nearly 500 direct employment, Chairman Masaru Aikawa said. The project will use only carbonic fertilizer and we will be able to obtain a substantial foreign exchange, Enterprises Development and Investment Promotion Minister Anura Yapa said.

In future too, there will be several projects of this nature and there will be focus on agriculture based tourism projects, the Minister further said.
