FM calls for thorough investigation on Diplomat

 
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has called for an immediate report from the Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo on the reported allegations pertaining to a Sri Lankan diplomat posted to the Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo.

The Foreign Minister stated that any officer, if found to have violated any financial and administrative rules and regulations, would be subject to disciplinary inquiries in terms of the administrative and financial regulations.

The Foreign Minister has also ordered the Foreign Ministry to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter within the shortest possible timeframe and take appropriate action accordingly.

The Foreign Minister further stated that he expects all officials to maintain the highest level of discipline and dignity.
