Spiritual development necessary for nation’s development
– President

 
The spiritual development of people is necessary to achieve the nation’s development goals, stressed President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (15 March) at Kasagala Rajamaha Viharaya.

He stated that development would be worthless if the future generation is not enriched with moral values.

Some are trying to raise racial, religious and caste differences by using the upcoming General election. All must step up to defeat these objectives, the President added.

The President, after religious observances at the Viharaya, instructed relevant officials to carry out the necessary restorations there.
