The Government has allocated Rs100 million to construct school buildings in the Northern Province, under the Uthuru Wasanthaya Programme.

Construction of 23 school buildings have been completed and were opened by Major General Chandrasiri and another three more are to be opened soon, reported Daily News.

Major General Chandrasiri said another Rs250 million was granted by the World Bank to provide infrastructure facilities for schoolchildren in the Northern Province and the project will be implemented within three weeks.
